End of the Season ride  20-22th September 2002

The end of the season ride of Torppa was arranged in Tammela Venesilta campgroupd pretty late in September.  Fortunately the weater was dry although cold.

The warmth of the sauna was excellent after the cold ride.  Of course, beer tasted well after the bath.

Kinder obviously had a tough week as he was already sleepy.

Making sousages over the open fire belongs to the normal activites.  Of course, there were plenty of stories about the ending season.

  And some just had to wrestle.  Nothing serious here though.

We happened to have full moon on Saturday, which happened to be surprisingly bright, although these pictures are taken between Friday and Saturday night.  Because of the clear sky the temperature dropped several degrees below freezing point.

One Saturday activity was coin casting.  Who managed to get his or hers one euro coin closest to the bottle finally got the bottle of whiskey.

Sometimes wery precise measurements were needed to find out which coin is closest to the bottle.  Tomi makes the measurement under tough surveillance.  You might see that the plate is more demanding than usual, as it contains some holes.

Because the weather was cold (just few degrees above feezing during the day) the comsumption of wood as pretty high.  It took quite some time to make the chimney to work properly, as Jansu is checking out.

People are little by little preparing for the highlight of the day - prize giving!

Chirman of the club reads the results.  Erkki Lampén had run the highest number of kilometers 30136, but unfortunately he was not present.  He even had a tour to Iran, which can be found out travel report. 

The second prize for  the former chairman Veikko with 24028km.

And the third prize to Kemppi with 20895km.

Sheets were used to protect against wind, which was pretty cold in the first place.

Somebody invented what to do with hanging swings.  At this point just getting speed.

Two ways were tried: length and style.  These examples by Jansu, Tero, Jansu, and Tomi.

Kemppi didn't do too well while the youngster did much more carefully.

And once again it was time for sauna.  This time already cooling down.

And wrestling again.

Benu starts to get sleepy, but it is already early morning.
